HRS4R Label
HRS4R LabelThe European Commission's "HR Excellence in Research" label recognizes institutions that have signed the "European Charter for Researchers" and the "Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers". The latter contribute to their attractiveness to researchers from all over the world and are a prerequisite for obtaining research funding from the European Union.
Strengthen its international influence
The Université Bretagne Sud wants to strengthen its international influence as a university that welcomes foreign researchers under the best conditions. This ambition is in line with the objectives of the HRS4R charter, which are to provide foreign researchers with quality infrastructure and equipment, but also with all the information that could be useful to them, professionally or personally.
On November 2017, our University informed the EU commission for its willingness to develop a "HR Strategy for researchers" and to continue to improve the working conditions, the recruitment and the environment of its employees.
UBS was already in a similar perspective to the one indicated by the European Strategy.
Since 2010, it has been committed to accessing expanded skills and responsibilities, and improving its autonomy in human resources management. To this end, it has relied on a controlled and diversified recruitment method conform to Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment of Researchers (OTMR-Policy).
The methodology
The methodology implemented by the Université Bretagne Sud to obtain the HRS4R label is based on a collective approach. It followed 3 steps:
- An in-depth internal analysis of strengths and weaknesses carried out by the project committee
- A questionnaire to consult the UBS scientific community as a whole
- The development of an action plan
All this is based on the perimeter of the Université Bretagne Loire in order to facilitate support for the implementation of the label.
Obtaining the HRS4R label will strengthen the Université Bretagne Sud in its dynamic and enable it to intensify its influence on a national, European and international scale.
