We have entered a new phase, that of performance, networks, internationalisation, and are active partners of the research and higher education cluster Université Européenne de Bretagne.
As a young, multidisciplinary university, whose oldest laboratories are ten years old, we are entering this phase with a new energy driven by the qualitative and quantitative improvement of our research, the upshot of a clearly asserted niche strategy.
Université de Bretagne-Sud is heavily involved in an internal and external reorganisation of its research teams, given that atomisation, in terms of size, of research had no foreseeable future, but its teams had recognised assets. Today, 10 approved teams have been formed, including two joint research units (Lab-STICC and CERHIO) and 250 PhD students are hosted.
These assets are demonstrated through the high level of participation in scientific consortiums, research groups and ANR and European programmes. The university also aims to promote its region through participation in local competitiveness clusters (Mer, Images et Réseaux, Valorial, iDforCAR) and competence clusters (Nautisme et construction navale, eTIC, Métiers d'art, Habitat durable):
MathSTIC cluster (Mathematics - Sciences - Information and Communication Technologies)
MIIG cluster (Sea - Internationalisation - Innovation - Governance)
TMV cluster (Technology - Materials - Living)
Our ambition is to promote the specificity of our research and to give UBS a global identity and transparency.
